Jason Krause redesigned an already classic helicopter model, the T-Rex 450, into the highly remarkable T-Rex 450 super edition (SE).  From servos, gyro, and a receiver, everything else required for one to be airborne, in the quickest time, is included within this TRex, and it this 80% assembled. A beautiful high strength fiberglass canopy is a defining feature, which makes it perfect for 3D flying. With new aluminum parts, a metal head and tail assembly, and carbon frames, this bird flies beautifully and is highly responsive to the controller.

The length of the T-Rex 450 SE is almost 650mm, its height is 230mm, and the flying weight capacity is approximately 690g. On a simple frame, the TRex features single side frames. The servo and linkage layout has been vastly improved along with the rotor head. The rotor head is made out of rigid CNC aluminum, which delivers an increase in precision flying for this model. The tail has been newly designed and is counter–weight balanced with carbon rotor blade grips. Also, the RPM has been reduced in the tail.

The new tail rotor control set brings smooth travel, and a minimum falling resistance exists due to the CNC metal tail unit and tail holder. The tail rotor diameter is around 150mm. The one-piece carbon/plastic landing gear adds stability and decreases the overall weight, even though it seems to look unattractive at first. The center of gravity is brought closer to the rotor blade as the SSG battery mounting plate is connected to the main frame. The main rotor diameter is 700mm.

One of its major changes is the direct servo change to swash eCCPM mixing. This provides a higher play from the previous models. In case of normal flying, stable flight can be achieved by adding the weights on flybar paddles. Obviously the weights are not required when flying in 3D mode.

Overall, this is a superb Align production of, which not only looks good, but also has a superb flight and hovering performance.
